“GOLEM2022: Embodying the monster”, the solo exhibition by Ruangsak Anuwatwimon. The exhibition has been a part of the “GOLEM” art series since 2011. Ruangsak has inspired by the legend of the golem. Due to the Jewish folklore, the mythical creature was made of clay, animating with magic or holy spell to protect and support the pure desire of the maker. The exhibition reveals the embodiment of human entities by installing sketches of organs. Consumer goods, medical services, and beauty products are seen as parts of the culture of consumption, aiming the human body to be perfect and strong following the social standard. The elements re-connects the existence of each species, retelling the mythologies and local folklores.
The artist has alchemized the interdisciplinary studies to create the project. His solo exhibition unveils the magical stories of artistic sensibilities through his GOLEM, connecting the audiences to the embodiment of meta-human - yet reflecting the entity of humankind beyond any imaginary of alienation and incompleteness.
“GOLEM2022” is also a special collaboration project between SAC Gallery and Gallery VER. His artworks are exhibited together in two places, correspondingly reflecting the reforming concept of the mythic creature. “GOLEM2022: Embodying the monster”, the solo exhibition by Ruangsak Anuwatwimon will be open from 17 March to 4 June 2022 at SAC Gallery, 3rd floor Art Centre Building. Opening hours: Tuesday - Saturday between 10:00 - 18:00 (The gallery is closed on Mondays, Sundays, and Public Holidays) An opening Reception will be held on 17 March 2022, 6 PM onward.
