In the past decade, the Thai art world has welcomed young, contemporary artists to the scene. They activate the dynamic atmosphere in which their ideologies and practices have been developed through vigorous discourses and discussions. The paths they pave allow them many possibilities in experimenting with their hypothesises. We, as passengers in the back seat for this occasion, keep our minds open for the chance to see where they are taking us. Their visions encompass curiosities which drive them to examine our society and the existing aesthetic currents with compelling questions.

"the end is now, now is here: The Exploration of Drawing" places the technique of drawing at the centre of this exploration, privileging process, gesture, time, expression of ideas, and artistic corporal experience over and pure aesthetic. This exhibition will unveil the importance of the relationship between the ideas and the unique practices of 25 young, Thai artists who are now forging their way to the status of mid-career.

SAC Gallery mission and vision are to provide Thai artists resources to meet their artistic needs and provide them the ability to work continuously where their art and ideas will be discussed through the lens of curators.

"the end is now, now is here: The Exploration of Drawing" will be on view from 14th November 2020 – 5th January 2021 at SAC Gallery.
