King Taksin the Great Shipyard was initiated when the Development Committee of King Taksin the Great Shipyard raised money to purchase additional land, apart from the land which Mr. Chaleow Bantaowong offered for public benefit. Thus, the shipyard area was a total of ​​about 10 rai. Later, the Nong Bua Subdistrict Administration Organization, which is responsible for this area, requested for a budget support from the Department of Local Administration for the budget year of 2003. The budget is to develop tourism, to build a permanent exhibition building in the area near the first pond, where the ship wreckage was found, to build a roof over the ship and to improve the twin buildings that already existed as a demonstration area and a shop selling local products. The exhibits inside the museum are permanent exhibitions of royal biographies and royal activities of King Taksin the Great. The display also features the background, evolution, archeology and history of Chanthaburi province.
